Scholarship Application

The U.S.S. Saratoga Association's Scholarship Program is available to high school seniors, who meet one of the eligibility criteria for the Scholarship Program.  See the Scholarship page for eligibility criteria, selection criteria, and other requirements.


Please ensure that you follow ALL listed instructions on the application. Not adhering to all stated requirements will lead to a deduction in scored points when your application is being evaluated.

 

Application Deadline:  Scholarship Applications are now open for 2024 and will be accepted thru July 31, 2024.

SUBMIT AN ESSAY:

Please address both of the following two (2) topics in your essay.


1.    Provide a detailed history of the U.S.S. Saratoga (CV-3, CVA-60, CV-60) your Sponsor served aboard AND
2.    Provide a detailed description of your Sponsor’s duties while serving aboard the ship, as well as any other additional duties or assignments before or after his shipboard time, that are applicable.


Your essay must contain a minimum of 500 words but, no more than 600 words. In order to truly “capture” the accurate history of the USS Saratoga and the contributions of your Sponsor,  you are highly encouraged to discuss both of these topics with your sponsor.


NOTE: Be sure to follow all essay instructions. Essay constitutes one-half (1/2) of the total points score of your application. Your essay will be evaluated on length, content, accuracy, clarity and efficiency of writing.
