Decklog by Timothy Harper (T.J.) AO3 on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 10:10 I was in Norfolk for the ship board training. Then got on aboard the Sara while she was still in dry dock in Phili. And of course came to Mayport FL. I was in Aimd. But after getting to Mayport was transferred to Air Department. Thanks to AOC Michael Rhodes whom I was in Norfolk with. I was able to be transferred. Dislocated my ankle in 86 day after Shell Back initiation. Got off Sara in Diego Garcia. For me the Sara was my home, work place, a place of maturity, and my transportation to the rest of the world. And I miss being able to see her.

Decklog by Arthur Dickie on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 09:40 .During my visit to Mallorca,May,1994.myself and two freinds met the Cheifpetty Officer Daryl, forgot his last name? and were invited to a tour of the carrier, picked up at Palma by the liberty ship and sailed out to her.On board we signed the visitors book, and had a brilliant time, sorry to say we only managed to cover 5 of the decks, sorry to hear she was decomissioned in Aug.1994.i believe we were the last visitors to be onboard before her tour ended, really enjoyed ourselfs, sadly the oldest passed away shortly after the visit.Just after that,I printed off some photo,s of the"SARA." framed them along with the date of our visit and gave one to to his two sons and daughter, sadly i could not find a websight to see if i could get a copyof the visitor book.God Bless.
